What to Do In the Garden This March

Now that March is finally here, it's time to get cracking! Grab your gloves and your trowels, there's lots to do in the garden this month.
Here's our handy list of gardening jobs to do this March to prepare your garden for spring.

Deadhead and Prune

First things first, we need to prepare the garden for the new flowering season. This is best done before your spring blooms appear earlier in the month. March is the perfect time to prune your climbers that have just finished flowering, such as clematis and winter-flowering jasmine. Deadhead spring flowers like daffodils once the blooms start to waver later in the month to encourage a new bud to grow.

Prepare Your Vegetable Patches

Before you order and plant your veggies for spring, prepare your soil. Adding some fertiliser into your vegetable patch will give your plants some much-needed nutrients and encourage a better harvest.

Prepare for Spring

Right now is the perfect time to start planning your summer garden! March is the best time to buy annual bedding plants and blooms, giving your summer displays a pop of vibrant colour throughout the season. Blooms such as petunias, geraniums and begonias are perfect for ground cover or hanging basket displays!
